"Interior Landscapes"
The Lab's Front Gallery
Feb- March 2008
Interior Landscapes showcases fabric sculpture/installation, paintings, and animation. The show's forms and narratives are inspired by botany, internal organs, and the idea of worlds within worlds. A loose narrative springs from the confusion of scale; the idea of life existing within seeds, creating landscapes at levels so large or small that they are beyond our grasp. Swans emerged for me as symbols of light, otherworldliness, fertility and transformation in this abstract narrative of micro/macrocosm. I see them as travelers journeying through tiny or huge worlds.
